This is because the North Pacific sea is exposed to seasonal upwelling. A phenomenon that occurs when trade winds exchange water from the sea surface for cold water from the seabed. And therefore the rise of these deep waters are the ones that are present in these seasons.

Thanks to this seasonal upwelling, the area is characterized by having a diverse and exceptional marine resource for marine species such as whales, dolphins, turtles and other species.

When it comes to camping there are options for all tastes. Those who prefer to be by the sea, those who prefer to be in a forest on the banks of a river or those who only want to be in a calm and natural environment.

Some of the options you can find in La Cruz are:

  • Bahía Junquillal National Wildlife Refuge: Camping by the sea. And with a proximity to other different beaches in the community of Cuajiniquil.
  • Casa Soley: Camping in a quiet and natural environment 2 to 5 kilometers from the different beaches of Puerto Soley.
  • Casa del Árbol: open-air camping in a natural environment. 2 to 5 kilometers from the different beaches of El Jobo.

Currently, the only beach that has these services is the beach located in the Bahía Junquillal National Wildlife Refuge.

However, for summer, Easter or high season, the municipality of La Cruz provides sanitary services and drinking water on the following beaches: Rajada and Puerto Soley.
