The network of family touristic accommodations is an initiative promoted by COLAC with funds from the Waitt Foundation to create employment alternatives in the communities surrounding the Marine Management Area Bahía Santa Elena. Its purpose is to:
- Promocionar Cuajiniquil como destino turístico.
- Improve the families’ economy through the service of lodging and food.
- Improve the community’s environment in terms of cleanliness and beauty.
- Improve the quality of service and attention in the families.
- Promote productive projects in the accommodation’s network.
The network of Tourist Family Accommodations of Cuajiniquil is an association composed by local families with more than 10 years of experience. They receive students, volunteers, and national tourism in their 13 different homes with capacities ranging from 1 person to groups in a family environment.
