In addition, fishermen have promised to protect the MMA (Marine Management Area) marine mantle and fish in certain areas so it does not affect the coral reefs.
The beaches of La Cruz are by excellence one of the best spots to practice and learn Kitesurf in Costa Rica and the world. The amount of wind gusts makes the perfect marine space for professionals and beginners. There are several Kite Surf Academies where you can learn and venture into this interesting sport.
Scuba diving is a once in a lifetime opportunity since it allows us to explore areas and experience sensations that would otherwise not be available to us. Thanks to the abundant marine life found in the Marine Management Area Bahía Santa Elena, it is possible to carry out this activity and observe thousands of underwater species. In addition, it is a privileged area. Currently this area is under several biological studies because it is home to some of the strongest corals to climate change and it is one of the few places in the world where you can find the rare black corals.
Since the marine area of Santa Elena is protected by its residents, taking a snorkeling tour is the perfect activity to enjoy the fascinating aquatic ecosystem.
One of the main attractions of La Cruz Coastal Tourist Corridor (CTC) is bird watching.
More than 200 species of birds can be observed in different habitats of the area which includes: primary dry tropical forest, secondary dry tropical forest, mangrove, open areas (savanna) and marine areas (pelagic birds).
You cannot miss the opportunity to visit Bolaños Island, which is a protected area of the Guanacaste Conservation Area (A.C.G.) where you can observe the nesting of the frigate bird and brown pelicans.

In the La Cruz Coastal Tourist Corridor (CTC) you can also take horseback rides along the different beaches or in the mountains, they are an adventure to enter unique places and landscapes.
